Health 2.0 Europe 2014
November 10-12 / London
The 4th annual Health 2.0 Europe was a great success with over 475 delegates, 80 speakers, 50 live demos, 30 journalists, plus an exciting pre-conference session on Health 2.0 tools for the Elderly, a workshop for investors interested in digital health, and another one exploring the specificities of the Central and Eastern European market. More importantly, we had an amazing time showcasing the latest in health technology, taking part in thought-provoking discussions and witnessing a high level of networking coming together at the event.
We loved London and your feedback shows you did too: the city’s vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and dynamic investment community is the perfect place to take your Health 2.0 initiatives to the next level. We went back in 2014 for another new exciting edition at the Mermaid Conference Centre.

Deep Dive Session: What do an Oil Rig and a Hospital Have in Common?
As an industry, health care is trying to reinvent itself with significant fuel from its' consumers, but the reality is that we can learn from other more advanced industries. Originally presented by the Dutch Center for Patient Safety at a recent Health 2.0 Amsterdam event, this topic will explore the similarity between a very conservative, but very advanced industry, and the hospital setting. One key lesson that will be explored is the insidiousness of human error and how we can overcome this by engaging key stakeholders with a human being at the center.

Mad*Pow Workshop: Beyond Gamification - Designing for Behaviour Change
What if game design principles were applied to develop products or services aimed at helping to achieve personal goals like wellness and health management? Leveraging the motivational dynamics of gameplay in order to energize and sustain people through changing behaviors while attaining complex goals is a challenging solution.
Participants in this hands-on workshop will learn the mechanics of clinically-tested behaviour change interventions, as well as techniques designers use to motivate, engage, and reward players through a game’s lifecycle.
A practical, step-by-step methodology will be explored throughout the day. By workshop’s end, participants will have collaboratively designed and pitched a structured behaviour change game, learned to craft game objectives that facilitate change, learned proper goal-setting, optimal challenge and reward patterns, feedback loops and skills cycles, affectsocial influence and community dynamics, applied metaphor and theme along with game balancing, play testing, and brainstorming techniques.
