San Francisco Fall 2012
At the 6th Annual Fall Conference we saw the very latest technologies in Health 2.0, and maintained our tradition of hosting leading thinkers and fascinating conversation. New technologies were presented in contextual environments woven around a developing narrative which illustrates the transformation occurring in the space. Change doesn’t come easily and a true, universal transformation requires the analysis, connection and redefinition of categories across all parts of the system. We dove deeper into these issues with topics like big data analysis, personalized medicine, price transparency and keynotes from Health Futurist Joe Flower, Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini and famed personal trainer Jillian Michaels. Over two days we progressively illuminated on stage, through mini-environments and discussion, that Health 2.0 is everywhere – it touches how we live, how we eat, how we interact with providers, patients and more. There was lots of media coverage, hundreds of customers, and scores of partners.
Speaker & Sponsor Party

Platforms for Unplatforms
For years at Health 2.0 we've been describing the mix of applications and devices working together as "unplatforms". In the past few months several major health care technology organizations have announced the launch of platforms and are trying to attract developers and health care technology companies to use them. We'll be explaining and reviewing these platforms with speakers from AT&T, Aetna, Qualcomm and Microsoft.
Keynote: Jillian Michaels
Jillian is the tough-as-nails trainer who has appeared on TV's The Doctors, The Biggest Loser and Losing It With Jillian, but there’s way more to this one woman force of nature than that. She's a fitness expert, life coach, author, blogger, and creator of DVDs and video games. And of course her personalized diet and fitness plans have helped people lose over 1.6 million pounds through her JillianMichaels.com website and mobile app—utilizing innovative tools, gamification tactics and the Apple subscription platform. Jillian is speaking as an expert Life Coach on behalf of Everyday Health, which launched JillianMichaels.com. On EveryDay Health she answers readers health & wellness questions and writes regular advice columns. We are really pumped to have her at Health 2.0 and to hear her keynote about life at the crossroads of health and entertainment.

Sponsored Deep Dive: It's About Me: Turning Health Into a First-Person Game
As medicine becomes more technical, we've lost some of the personal touch -- the family doctor who made housecalls and knew every member in the family, the pharmacist who took a minute to chat about what you're eating for breakfast. Even worse, most people are intimidated by the healthcare experience -- and who can blame them? It's hard to ask your doctor smart questions while wearing just a paper garment in a strange room with bad lighting.
How can we bring people back into their health story? With technology. A newer, smarter technology that helps you find people and experts and talk to them privately. A platform that taps into your own motivations, lets you set your health goals, and makes better health a rewarding game. Where you're in charge and you never have to wear a paper gown.
