The 6th annual Health 2.0 Europe Conference took on Barcelona for 2 full days of content exploring international innovation in patient-provider communication, consumer health, data analytics and more. Over 100 speakers, and 600 attendees from across the world witnessed over 50 live product demos as the EU markets continued to disrupt health care with new innovations.

Mad*Pow Workshop: Beyond Gamification - Designing for Behaviour Change
What if game design principles were applied to develop products or services aimed at helping to achieve personal goals like wellness and health management?
Participants in this hands-on workshop will learn the mechanics of clinically-tested behaviour change interventions, as well as techniques designers use to motivate, engage, and reward players through a game’s lifecycle.
A practical, step-by-step methodology will be explored throughout the day.
GET Inspired - Solving Provider Challenges with Digital Technology
This hands-on workshop aims to bridge concrete needs of healthcare providers, with digital solutions from health entrepreneurs and SMEs. 6 healthcare organizations will present their needs in important areas such as infection management, telemedicine, prevention, and rehabilitation. Solution teams will then make proposals to address these needs. The aftermath is an open door for a longer term collaboration between the health care providers and their problem solvers. This session is located at the Mobile World Center.

Industry Deep Dive: Beyond an EMR: A Human 360 Experience
Core medical data is already becoming a small percentage of overall personal health record. Existing EMR platforms are over two decades old and are struggling to keep up pace with archaic architectures, millions of lines of code and minimal to no differentiation to their client base today. The smart ones are looking to open up their API’s, integrate body generated & genomics data combined even with environmental data at a personalized level to be able to provide that precision medicine at point of care.

Richard Brady will focus on the potential for harm that some medical apps can pose in the absence of regulation or peer-review. By exploring emerging examples of poor data security, lack of evidence, inaccuracy and poor testing, the potential to effect patient outcomes and undermine consumer trust in the field becomes clear.
