I am an anesthesiologist who works at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center and harbors a deep passion for dance and exercise. I have no official dance training but have danced in countless unlikely situations.
While dancing in front of a water fountain music show in Barcelona just after finishing medical school, I realized how profoundly my dancing affected people when an onlooker dropped a Euro for me. When it happened a second time, I decided then that I could probably do well as a busker if I ever needed the money. I love dancing and inspiring others. Although I never did need the money, I knew that someone else did. And so, I took to the streets as #doctorbedancing — a name lovingly concocted by one of my patients during my internship — to see how I could positively influence the world around me.
