Jess Jacobs coordinates the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research Health IT portfolio through an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education Fellowship. In mid-2012, Jacobs was appointed as vice-chair of the Health Information Management Systems Society’s Innovation Taskforce and received a fellowship with the Foundation for Healthcare Innovation. Additionally she chairs FedTel’s Technology, Innovation, and Standards group and serves on the inaugural Congressional Apps steering committee. Previously, Jacobs wrote the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Text4baby promotional plan and managed the Federal mHealth Collaborative, an initiative stood up in coordination with the White House during her time with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT. Jacobs, known for her Sugar Free Red Bull addiction, holds a M.S. in Health Systems Administration from Georgetown University and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
