Jon admitted that he didn’t fully understand his patient crowdsourcing platform until he had to explain it to his “Gran”, who later collaborated with him on the PatientsCreate’s video. The idea is that patients write a call to innovation to solve a health related problem. Fellow patients read the challenge and – with the incentive of prizes, notoriety, and the possibility of presenting at one of the company’s forums – then develop their own ideas into patient solutions. Companies, too, can gain early proof-of concept on new digital solutions by surveying patient consumers on how to improve them. PatientsCreate isn’t Jon’s first startup; he fostered his flare for entrepreneurship when starting a catering company – we hope the food at our conference is up to his standards!
