Michael Aratow, MD is the Director of Medical Informatics for CEP America. He practices at San Mateo Medical Center where he is also Chief Medical Information Officer. There he has helped to implement the Emergency Department Information System, and an outpatient Ambulatory Electronic Medical Record for general and specialty clinics that collectively see about 250,000 annual visits. Dr. Aratow received his bachelor’s in Biology, Cum Laude, from University of California, Irvine, his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine, a surgical internship at University of California, San Francisco and his Emergency Medicine training at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital in Chicago. He also has performed an orthopedic research fellowship at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and was a research consultant at NASA -Ames Research Center in basic physiology and virtual environment projects. Michael is active in 3D computer graphics standards activities, especially as it relates to 3D medical images.
