Dr. Nandini Mundkur is one of India’s treasures. Her relentless pursuit of improving the lives of children with disabilities is inspiring and an example for others to emulate.
Dr. Nandini Mundkur is the Director, Centre for Child Development and Disabilities. She focuses on developing socio-emotional learning in children and his widely recognized for her contribution to early detection and management of disabilities in children. Dr. Mundkur entered the field of social entrepreneurship before the term even existed. She was a awarded an Ashoka Fellowship in Social Entrepreneurship, the Sathya Gupta Award for Social Pediatrics and in 2008 was listed as an ‘Indian Genius’ by The Week magazine. Dr. Mundkur completed her MBBS and MD from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. She practiced as a paediatrician during her early career while pursuing a keen interest in the field of developmental studies. She’s completed a course in Vojta’s Early Diagnosis and Therapy and is also a Fellow of American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (FAACP and DM).
