Richard is currently the CEO of MapMyFITNESS, a health technology company that operates the web’s largest fitness community and offers comprehensive enterprise health solutions as well. He is an experienced senior internet executive, with the rare distinction of having worked in operating roles on all four legs of the media stool: as a client; running several ad agencies; at several large publishers; and leading two ad networks. As an experienced M&A veteran, he’s also been intimately involved in over a billion dollars of Internet acquisitions on both the buy and sell sides. Prior to his current role, Richard was the CEO of Technorati Media, the largest social media ad network, where he remains Executive Chairman of the Board. He is also a board advisor at Weather Underground, MyYearbook and Skimlinks, and he was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Battery Ventures as well as strategy consultant to several other Internet companies. Before Technorati, he served as the SVP of Corporate Development for Exponential Interactive, the parent company of Tribal Fusion, one of the US’ largest ad networks, and he was SVP of Business Development for Fox Interactive Media and its properties (MySpace, IGN, Foxsports.com, AskMen, AmericanIdol.com, Rotten Tomatoes, Scout.com and GameSpy). He arrived at Fox via IGN Entertainment, where he was VP of Business & Corporate Development. In that role, Richard was instrumental in creating and executing the growth strategy that led to IGN being acquired by News Corp for $650 million. Before IGN, Richard held executive roles at Lycos, Neopost, and Answerthink. Early in his career, he founded K23 Creative Services in Singapore, and held management positions for Ford Motor Company, IBM and Siemens. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and his M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from the University of Washington.
