Stead first showed Diabetic Connect at Health 2.0 in 2008. By last year there were numerous disease and health “Connect” communities and 500,000 members. Now there’s more of everything including communities, members, and investors–with a recent $7m venture round. There’s also more tools, more content–Alliance now owns Amy Tenderich’s Diabetes’ Mine–and now private labeling, with Alliance powering Mayo Clinic’s new entrance into the online community world.
