lifeIMAGE, a network for the secure sharing of medical images, raised $15 million in Series C funding. Key investors include Cardinal Partners (Princeton, NJ) and Galen Partners (Stamford, CT).

Big data analytics company, GNS Healthcare, partnered with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG) to assess CMS’s quality measures. GNS will apply the Reverse Engineering and Forward Simulation Big Data analytics and machine learning platform to study the impact of quality measures on delivered care.

San Francisco based digital health startup Nurep, recently debuted an iPad-based medical device support platform that eliminates the need to have medical reps physically present in the operating room. The application, powered by the Doximity platform, allows physician-scientists to securely collaborate and share clinical information in a virtual environment.

Treato secured $14.5 million in a funding round led by OrbiMed Israel Partners and New Leaf Venture Partners. Treato combines patented Natural Language Processing algorithms, patient language dictionaries and big data analytics to distil real-time patient insights from social media.

MDLIVE announced that self-insured employers using Cigna will have access to its telehealth plan on Jan. 1, with signup starting this summer. The benefit would be part of Cigna’s regular network, with negotiated rates and co-pays.
