Innovate Health Tech NYC is Challenging Local Health Tech Innovators to Solve Urgent Health Care Problems
We’re now less than a week away from the deadline to apply for the Innovate Health Tech NYC Challenge, and we’ve got some exciting news to share! For those of you who are not familiar, the Innovate Health Tech NYC Challenge is an initiative from the New York City Economic Development Corporation and the Bloomberg Administration that was created to build out the health tech ecosystem in NYC. For local health tech innovators in the NYC area, entering in the challenge is a unique opportunity. If you have a product – even an early prototype – that is in a pre-commercialization phase and has the potential to revolutionize health care in a meaningful fashion, this challenge is for you! In addition to the top three finalists winning funding of $25,000, $15,000 and $10,000, nine judge’s choice finalists and one popular choice finalists can also reap the benefits of the challenge (keep reading!).
The non-cash prizes include an invitation to present at Demo Day, as well as a three-part pitch coaching session. For innovators, startups, or any organization of fewer than 10 people, this is a great way to receive free guidance from Startup Health Academy. Once presentations are prim and polished, all finalists are invited to Demo Day on July 10, 2013 at Blueprint Health in SoHo. Finalists will showcase their prototypes in front of high profile judges from the industry such as Cyrus Massoumi of ZocDoc, Kim Park from Janssen Healthcare Innovation, and Dave Whitlinger from NYeC. In addition, top healthcare investors such as Todd Pietri from Milestone Venture Partners and Richard Forman from Health Venture Group will be in attendance and looking for their next disruptive health tech investment.
This event is open to the public and with prominent leaders and a large audience, this will be a great opportunity to showcase their products and ideas. The first step is to apply to Innovate Health Tech NYC!
