Rock Health-backed Kit Check announced a $10.4 million Series A funding round led by New Leaf Venture Partners with participation from Sands Capital Ventures, Easton Capital Investment Group and LionBird. Kit Check helps the inefficient and error-prone manual process for replenishing hospital pharmacy kits.

CareCloud announced the next generation release of CareCloud Charts, the company’s cloud-based EHR. This release features new capabilities for improving physicians’ clinical workflow and comes at the heels of CareCloud’s Series B funding in June 2013.

Mango Health, the Rock Health startup with a gamified medication adherence app, released aggregated data about the adherence habits of its user base. Mango did not reveal the exact size of its user base, but shared insights about adherence by day of the week, adherence by drug, and the most commonly taken meds.

Brooks Running Company, maker of athletic apparel and accessories, launched an online community, The Run Happy Group. The community was created in partnership with social fitness company, MapMyFitness, and uses their MapMyRun app to allow runners to share experiences, information and updates about their fitness goals.

simplifyMD, developer of EHR and practice management software, will provide the new EHR system for the Celebration Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Institute, Florida. simplifyMD’s cloud-hosted EHR mirrors the physician’s charts and forms, and integrates with the institute’s current workflow, existing hardware and practice management solution.

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) debuted the Health IT Value Suite, a comprehensive online resource to serve as a standardized taxonomy and framework for health information technology. This repository classifies, quantifies and articulates the clinical, financial and business impact of health IT investments.

CRG Medical, provider of web based health care application, released the KBCore Common Formats “Purple Button” Patient Safety app on the MioCARE A105, an Android tablet for health care. This tablet integrates with the hospital’s EHR and captures, encrypts and transfers patient safety information to the institution’s Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES) in real time.
