Flex Your Design Skills at Our Upcoming Design-a-thon
Health 2.0 is excited to bring to the Bay Area tech community an upcoming in-person design-focused innovation competition sponsored by The California HealthCare Foundation. This Health 2.0 “Design-a-thon” will focus on the delivery of actionable data to elected officials. Our friends at HealthTap have been generous enough to host the event at their headquarters in Palo Alto, CA.
As part of the “Free the Data Initiative,” The California HealthCare Foundation is challenging graphic designers, UI experts, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and health care professionals to design a smart data display system that will better inform decisions made by local elected officials.
At the end of the two-day event, prototypes ranging from paper wire-frames to functional websites will be submitted by participants. Submissions will be evaluated on their visual appeal and actionability.
In addition to the chance to create a prototype that could be used in policy making and budgetary decisions, there is prize money to win. For the best design, a prize of $5,000 is up for grabs. Five others get prizes ranging from $1,000 to $3,000. Not bad for a couple days of work!
So join us September 7-8, 2013 at HealthTap HQ, in Palo Alto, CA to get in on the action! Don’t forget to register here: bit.ly/chcf_designathon. Contact Jenn Stone (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions.
