Allscripts named Healthfinch the grand prize winner of its Open Apps Challenge for its automated prescription renewal request app.

Kaiser Permanente opened a new health care technology center in Denver. The center will focus on employees using technology to delivery high-quality, affordable health care to Kaiser Permanente members living in Colorado and across the country.

Eclipse Breast Health Technologies, a developer of wireless breast self-exam device, launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise $650K. The funding will help bring Eclipse, a hand-held imaging device that allows users to self-administer a breast exam to detect breast abnormalities, to the market.

PremierConnect, a social networking platform for Premier health care alliance members, received the 2013 CIO 100 Award. The award is given by CIO magazine, a content and community resource for information technology, and recognizes organizations with operational and strategic excellence in information technology.
