The New York State Health Data Code-a-Thon Arrives Just in Time For the Holidays!
A new code-a-thon has arrived on the block, and we’re excited to announce it! The New York State Health Foundation, New York State Health Department, Health Research Inc., and New York State Information Technology Services have all partnered with Health 2.0 to create this one of a kind event where innovation meets public health: Introducing the New York State Health Data Code-a-Thon!
The aim of the code-a-thon is simple: stem the “twin epidemic” of obesity and diabetes. The ultimate goal is to use participants’ own design expertise, creativity, and most importantly experiences to engage health experts and open data leaders with mobile/web-based tools. These tools should ideally help New Yorkers get control of their health by providing better access to resources in their community.
Poised to take place during “NY Innovates” – a week-long event that explores the creative use of technology and data to solved the challenges of tomorrow – the event, officially themed “Healthy Connections = Healthy Communities”, will be one of the most exciting events of the holiday season. The event takes place December 19-20, 2013, and with over $10,000 in cash and prizes, this surely an event you won’t want to miss. Seats at this won’t last long, so register here today!
