GE will acquire workforce management and analytics software vendor API Healthcare. GE will incorporate API Healthcare’s offerings into its Hospital Operations Management product line.

Kareo, a provider of cloud-based medical office software and services for small medical practices, secured $29.5 million in growth capital. This round was led by Greenspring Associates, and joined by OpenView Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank.

Lumiata, formerly known as MEDgle, raised $4M in Series A funding from Khosla Ventures. Lumiata is a provider of medical science and patient data analytics.

Teladoc, a telehealth company, announced that it now has 7.5 million members. Teledoc aims to complete more than 200,000 consultations in 2014 as well as double revenues for the second straight year.

According to a new report by IHS Technology, number of patients using telehealth services will reach 7 million by 2018. The revenue for telehealth services is estimated to rise from $440.6M in 2013 to $4.5B in 2018.

WiserTogether, a cloud based health decision making tool for consumers, partnered with MDLIVE, a telehealth company, to provide its members with immediate access to medical professionals that offer treatment options identified by its Wiser Health platform.
