The Veterans Health Administration and Kaiser Permanente will pool resources and ideas as part of the Veterans Affairs Center of Innovation Partnership Program. Patients may obtain their test results directly from the laboratory that produced them, without having to go through their doctors, according to new regulations. The rule supersedes state law and will have particular significance in 13 states that prohibit labs from releasing test results directly to patients.
Virtual mail-order pharmacy PillPack launched in 31 states, thanks in part to an infusion of $4 million in venture capital. For $20 a month, PillPack delivers prescriptions in pre-packaged envelopes for each day of the week.
