Team Triangle

Dr. Daniel Karlin is a psychiatrist in Boston who is among the presenters of this mind-blowing demo created by Team Triangle. This team hacked into the xbox game Kinect uses technology to address the challenge of diagnosing hyperkinetic movement disorders .

Team BlueMeter

Team Blue Meter, with Kaiser’s Dr. Ted Eaton and VIdentity’s CEO Alan Viars, among other team members, have built a product surrounding an idea around an energy resource and using it towards a consumer good of healthcare. Check out how this team has put a positive spin on peer pressure.

Team Health Central

The health search and content company, Health Central, has thought outside of the box to create an app that marries available government data with their company data, and ties the two together using geo location, while attempting to gauge both active and passive patients.

Team Maya

Team Maya presents results from the D.C. Code-A-Thon where they  addresses the issue of food desserts by creating a hub website where farmers and consumers can come together for affordable access to fresh food.

Team Wellness Garden

This large, multidisciplinary team has come together to collectively create a fully functioning android app that addresses the problem of human behavior. The app encourages switching over from addictions like cigarettes, fast food, and lack of exercise which lead to lung disease, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer, to a more healthy addiction: a game that uses a data driven design mechanism  to encourage goal setting using a progress tracking system.

Team School Records

These developer challenge winners were asked by the Lucille Packard Foundation to create a program that could get parents of children with special health needs more educated, empowered, and engaged.  Team School Records created a pilot for children with asthma living in California, including an EHR where the school nurse and parents can remain connected at any given time during the day, connecting the EHR updates with parent’s cell phones via text message, as well as air quality text updates in real-time.

Humetrix – Easy Record Transference

Bettina Experton, President and CEO, Humetrix

Bettina’s been a national health policy advisor in three continents, and here she’ll show us Humetrix’ “portable, mobile HIE solutions.” U-BeWell is USB based, while MediSee works on the smart phone. Both give patients control over sending records from multiple sites to their physicians with no logins or previous integration required.

MyHealthDIRECT – Healthcare Scheduling Exchange

Jay Mason, President & Co-founder, MyHealthDIRECT

After years in insurance and starting a nationwide complementary care network, Jay founded MyHealthDIRECT in 2005. It took him a couple of years to convince people that an appointment scheduling system for Medicaid providers and community clinics was a viable proposition, but you’ll see today that it both does good and makes business sense. There’s similar idealistic vision behind Jay’s work in his support of Christian education and charities in the US, and in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
