The new health care environment is continually moving into the hands of the individual consumer. The New Environment for Better Health Care Decisions, co-moderated by Indu Subaiya and Matthew Holt, addressed the issues and benefits of the integration of consumer data with clinical experiences. Ryan Beckland from Validic introduced the session as a sponsor. Speakers included Susannah Fox, Tim Kelsey, Neal Sofian, Jamie Heywood, Amy Cueva, David Whitlinger, and Lygeia Ricciardi. A son of two physicians, Chris Bradley learned from his parents that medical records provided immense amounts of information but not the insights they had expected. Chris created Mana Health by combining medicine and computer science, thereby transforming raw data into a highly effective and efficient tool to positively impact the health of patients on a massive scale. Bradley demonstrated his new platform which integrates New York’s patient records for a customized experience, recently awarded the contract to build the patient portal for New York.
