Under the auspices of the DGH and with the support of the WHO, Sophia developed the ePORTUGUESe platform to support the development of human resources for health in Portuguese-speaking member states. The platform ultimately facilitates collaboration among the participating institutions, delivers health information, and promotes capacity building. Sophia previously worked on a number of projects including a nationwide smoking cessation programme, so she is no stranger to implementing large projects with DGH.

Erden is a physician and a biophysicist, so it’s natural that he’d already founded doktorsitesi before completing his PhD. Now the biggest health platform in Turkey (1.2M registered patients and 12,000 registered physicians), doktorsitesi allows consumers to share their experiences, ask advice and make appointments. Physicians use the site to respond to consumer questions and inquiries. This year, Erden will explain why he decided to revamp a site that was already very successful to create access for patients and health professionals to the same information.
