A group of artists, doctors, developers, and entrepreneurs, Remedy Ventures built an iPhone platform for healthcare. Immediately post launch two of their apps hit the top of iPhone health apps. Their mobile portal is linked to a web portal that helps communication between doctors and nurses, provides digital prescriptions, and more.

Focusing on the big issue of “health in the rest of the world”, Healthy Worlds focuses on global lifestyles and how to improve health issues in each community. Using virtual worlds Healthy Worlds uses avatars to create engaging and immersive health coaching experiences.

Global Village for Health – Improving Health Amongst the African Diaspora

An interactive social network, Global Village for Health targets African Americans. Their effort is to improve the health of African-descended people, who are often neglected in healthcare outreach. Global Village for Health also targets issues of heart disease, diabetes, and other health issues that are uniquely targeted to this demographic.

This panel gives an exposure to six leading edge Health 2.0 companies who are driving new techniques into the health and wellness space. Each presenter only has 3.5 minutes to introduce their product, to give a general overview to some of the breaking-edge technology and ideas that are working to improve general health.

Focusing on health prevention, PureWellness supplies tools, infrastructure, rewards systems, and services to help employers work with their employees to maintain a higher level of overall health. ScanAvert takes information that is only relevant to you, providing a personal profile that helps you control what food you buy. Based off a personally established database of calories and ingredients, ScanAvert is a mobile app that allows consumers to scan each food item and immediately assess how it fits (or doesn’t fit) into their health plan.
