We talked with Janak Joshi, Executive Director at T1D Exchange, about the biggest challenges, trends and developments in health care technology at the Health 2.0 San Francisco 2011 Fall Conference.

Janak Joshi is Executive Director of the TD1 Exchange, funded by the Helmsley Foundation to improved the lives of those with Type 1 Diabetes. TD1 has had a tissue bank up for nearly a year, but this is the first glimpse of their really exciting linked social network, GLU.

Since it’s inception in 2008, Launch! has introduced over 45 new companies and products, including Unity Medical, Remedy Ventures, TheCarrot, and the WSJ’s 2010 top (and not just in health!) start-up company, Castlight Health. This year’s Launch! featured Basis, Clarimed, Carecoach, GLU, GoodRx, HealthPer, Medify, Numera Social, 1 + 1 Labs, and WellnessFX.
